Privacy Policy
Woo Chul Moon ("we", "us") sets out below how personal information is handled in the iOS application "KEEPANGLE" (the "App").
We do not collect information about users of the App. Except as described below, the information the App handles stays on your device.
1. Information the App Handles
(1) Photos and shooting records
Photos of your face taken with the front camera, and the records made when each photo is taken (positions of facial landmarks, face direction, distance, brightness and camera settings), the values used to align the photos, and the person cut-outs used for display.
(2) Information you enter
Notes on each photo and settings (language, the day and time of the photo reminder, display settings, etc.).
(3) Free trial start date
The date and time you tapped "Get Started" after the first shooting environment guide.
(4) Purchase status
Whether the in-app purchase "KEEPANGLE Full Access" has been purchased.
The App does not collect location data, contacts, photos in the Photos app (it does not read them), advertising identifiers or any other device identifiers. It uses no analytics tools or advertising SDKs that measure your behaviour and send it elsewhere. There is no account registration.
2. Camera and Face Information
- The camera is used only when you take photos in the App.
- Facial landmark detection and photo alignment are performed on your device using Apple's frameworks. Face information is never sent off the device.
- If you use Face ID Lock, face matching is performed by iOS, and the App receives only whether the match succeeded. The App never receives your Face ID face data.
3. Where Information Is Stored
All information in section 1 is stored only on your device. It is never sent to or stored on our servers, and we cannot view it.
There are two exceptions:
- The free trial start date (section 1(3)) is stored, in addition to your device, in the iCloud key-value storage tied to your Apple account. This is so that the trial deadline carries over after reinstalling or changing devices. Only the date and time are stored; they are held on Apple Inc.'s servers and we cannot view them.
- If you have turned on iCloud Backup in your iPhone settings, your photos and records are included in your iCloud Backup through Apple's mechanisms. iCloud Backup is managed by Apple Inc., and we cannot view it.
The purchase status (section 1(4)) is stored in the Keychain on your device.
4. Internet Communication
The App connects to the internet only in the following cases. Your photos, shooting records and notes are never sent.
(1) Communication with the App Store
The App communicates with Apple's App Store to retrieve the price of the in-app purchase, to purchase, to restore purchases and to check the purchase status (including refunds). This is handled by Apple, and we receive no information that identifies the purchaser.
(2) Syncing with iCloud key-value storage
The free trial start date (section 1(3)) is synced with iCloud through Apple's mechanisms.
5. Sharing Photos and Saving to the Photos App
- Only when you choose to share, the App passes an aligned photo (with "KEEPANGLE" in the lower-right corner) to the iOS share sheet. A confirmation is shown before each share. You choose the destination, and the photo is handled according to the destination's own terms.
- Only if you choose "Save Image" in the share sheet, the App asks for permission to add photos to the Photos app. The App never reads photos in the Photos app.
6. Notifications
The photo reminder is a local notification scheduled on your device. No external communication is made for notifications. While the free trial has ended and no purchase has been made, scheduled reminders are removed.
7. Third Parties Outside Japan
The following overseas entity processes information when you use the App.

By using the App, you consent to this processing.
8. Purposes of Use
Information handled by the App is used only for the following purposes:
- guiding you while taking photos, aligning photos, and displaying and comparing photos;
- determining the free trial deadline and providing features according to purchase status; and
- scheduling the photo reminder (a local notification on your device; nothing is sent externally).
We do not use this information for any other purpose, and we do not sell or lend it to third parties.
9. Retention and Deletion
Information handled by the App exists only on your device and is retained until you delete it. Deleting a photo also deletes its note and records. Deleting the App erases the information on the device. However, the purchase status and free trial start date may be retained even after deleting the App, through Apple's mechanisms (Keychain and iCloud). Information included in iCloud Backup is handled according to Apple's mechanisms.
Because we do not store your information, there is no data held by us that could be subject to a deletion request.
10. Minors
If you are a minor, please use the App with the consent of a parent or guardian.
11. Changes to This Policy
This Policy may be changed as necessary. We will notify you of material changes in the App or on this page.
